Highly Regarded Amateur Golfer Makes Successful Debut in Professional Golf

Golfer Mark Harrell made a succesful transition from amateur to the professional ranks this week. One week ago Harrell signed a representation agreement with 4U Management in Orlando, Florida. Sunday afternoon he concluded his 1st professional tournament by posting a final round 72 and finishing 23rd in Dothan, Alabama at the Dothan Classic. This was the Hooter's Tour stop this week at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Highland Oaks. Harrell took home his first pay check from his new profession. Harrell's 67 on Friday afternoon tied him for the lowest score of the day.

The Hooter's Tour heads to Hawkinsville, Georgia this week for the ComSouth Classic to be contested over the Southern Hills Golf Club.

Champion Golfers Lee Janzen and Ben Crane in FedExCup Play-offs

Two-time U.S. Open Champion Lee Janzen and two-time PGA TOUR Champion Ben Crane advance to this week's FedExCup Play-offs. Janzen posted his 4th consecutive score in the 60's (67,66,67,67) Sunday afternoon in the Wyndham Championship. His score of 67 was good enough to tie him for 15th at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Janzen and Crane are both represented by 4U Management in Orlando, Florida. Crane shot a final round 68 and tied for 41st.

Both Janzen and Crane head north tonight for Paramus, New Jersey for the Barclay's Classic. The opening round of the 2008 FedExCup Play-offs will be held in Paramus at famed Ridgewood Country Club. The top 144 golfers in the FedExCup points chase will be competing for the FedEx Cup Championship.

Champion Amateur Golfer Makes Cut in 1st Professional Tournament

Mark Harrell had an outstanding amateur career. He just completed his senior year at the University of Alabama where he helped lead the Crimson Tide to it's 1st ever #1 ranking in the nation in each of the last 2 years. The Tide won their 1st SEC Championship this year when Harrell fired a final round 66. Following the Western Amateur last week, Harrell signed a representation agreement with 4U Management in Orlando, Florida.

He entered his 1st tournament as a professional tournament this week at the Hooter's Tour event, the Dothan Classic. This event is being held on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Highland Oaks. Harrell fired a 5-under 67 Friday to back up his opening round 71. Mark not only made the cut in his 1st tournament as a professional but is t-10th entering the weekend.

Two=time U.S. Open Champion Lee Janzen fires a 66 and is tied for 12th in Wyndham Championship

The Wyndham Championship reached the halfway mark Friday evening following a 1 hour and 11 minute rain delay. Despite two bogeys on his scorecard, Carl Pettersson shot a tournament record 9 under 61 and soared to a 3 shot lead. 4U Management has 3 clients participating this week at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. All 3 fired a 66 Friday. Two-time U.S. Open Champion Lee Janzen shot 66 to back up his opening round 67 to finish the day at 7-under par and is tied for 12th entering the weekend. Two-time PGA TOUR Champion Ben Crane also shot 66 and is tied for 18th at 6-under par. The cut came at 3-under 137, with 78 players advancing to the weekend. The 3rd 4U Management client, Jason Allred, shot 66 as well. It was a day for 66's for 4U Management. Jason missed the cut by one shot.

Two 4u Management clients had a good first round in the Wyndham Championship in Greesboro, North Carolina today. Two-time U.S. Open Champion Lee Janzen fired a 66. Ben Crane, a two-time winner on the PGA TOUR opened with a 66.

Mark Harrell turns professional and signs with 4U Management, LLC

Mark Harrell turned professional today with his signing of a representation agreement with 4U Management, LLC in Orlando, Florida. Harrell is the 20th ranked amateur player in the USA and 49th ranked amateur in the world according to this week’s GOLFWEEK World Amateur Rankings.

Harrell ended an impressive 4 year career at the University of Alabama in June. He was instrumental in the Crimson Tide’s first-ever number 1 ranking in the nation for 2006-2007. The Tide again was ranked number 1 in the nation most of 2007-2008 and won their first Southeastern Conference Championship in 29 years when Mark fired a bogey-free 56 in the final round in the SEC Championship. Two weeks ago, Harrell finished tied for 6th in the prestigious Southern Amateur. It was his third consecutive top 10 in this event.
